美国哥伦比亚大学人类遗传学博士,师从著名化学家和遗传学家,人类基因组计划创始人之一,Charles Cantor 教授 ;加州大学旧金山分校(UCSF)/斯坦福大学的人类基因组中心博士后 。拥有20余年从事人类基因组学、基因芯片(Microarrays)及高通量测序技术开发的经验。


研究方向:人类基因组学,基因芯片及高通量测序技术的开发,近年来,致力于开发高通量测序技术的临床应用,挑战高难度的医学样本,如肿瘤石蜡切片(FFPE)、血液、唾液、循环肿瘤细胞(CTCs)以及血浆游离DNA(cfDNA)等。


学术成就:发表学术论文160余篇 [其中第一作者21篇,通讯作者45篇,最近五年(2010 - 2015)76篇, 他引总数超过一万多次], 专著一部;拥有国际专利23项。


行业经验:任职于Affymetrix,领导开发了用于大规模基因组基因分型(SNP genotyping)的技术及产品,奠定了全基因组关联研究(Whole-genome Association Study, GWAS)的基础。曾任Illumina 公司资深技术总监,作为Illumina 公司初期基因芯片技术(BeadArray technology)的核心研发人员及公司第23号初创员工,他参与了Illumina 公司16年来的辉煌成长,带领团队完成了世界首个高通量测序平台(Illumina MiSeqDx)的美国FDA临床认证,成为高通量测序技术临床应用的一重大里程碑。


范博士是多部国际学术期刊的编辑委员会成员(Editorial board of Genomic Research, Translational Cancer Research), 执行编辑(Executive Editor of Genomics) 和总编(Editor-in-Chief of Genomics Data)。
